Dr. Wanda Greenwood

I was born and raised in Meridian, Mississippi. Upon graduating high school, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education (University of West Alabama), a Master of Science degree in school counseling and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in educational leadership (Mississippi State University). Throughout my educational career, I have served in many capacities while dedicating myself to equipping students with lifelong learning knowledge and skills for future success.

As school counselor, my goal is to support students in developing social and emotional competence and improving their academic performance. Thus, implementing standards-based practices and classroom guidance will promote student learning and development with a foundation for helping students understand their career interests and abilities. Consequently, such integrated services will positively impact both the school and community in a way that systematically produces long-term benefits.  Because research shows that school counselors are vital members of the education team, it is my privilege to work with stakeholders alike to facilitate the execution of the school’s mission and vision. I am proud to announce my third year here at River’s Edge Elementary School where we are dedicated to reaching new heights one student at a time!
